Water in the West: Water Rights, Water Law, and the Many Uses of Water in Colorado (Field Trip)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Keystone Science School has a central theme of broadening perspectives throughout all our programs. Come learn about water in the west and all it’s different uses. Water management in Colorado is not a simple concept but in this workshop teachers can gain background information of how our water is managed in Colorado and all the different uses of water within the state. Teachers will also learn about Keystone Science School’s non-biased format of teaching environmental issues.

The workshop will include a take a hike to majestic views of the Tenmile Range along Dillion Reservoir which is high mountain storage for Denver Water which transports water from the west to the east slope of the Continental Divide. Throughout the workshop teachers will be forced to collaborate and work towards a common goal. The educational process demonstrated is student driven and can be applied to any local environmental issue.

Packing List:
full water bottle, sneakers, warm layer, rain/wind jacket, long pants may be preferred, small backpack
